Math Games

Learning happens in many different ways. Some of these ways include hands on activities and games. Today our class experienced hands on learning during math time by playing a multiplication game. This activity helped students use what they already learned in a fun and interactive way.

Today was picture day! Students looked awesome and so we took advantage of our dress up day by taking a class picture (flash back to the 80s lol). We are missing one student in the picture as they were absent.

NetSmartz Assesmbly

It's been another great week at Altamont Elementary! Today we had an assembly about how to keep safe and be polite while on the internet and computer. Also discussed was that in order to use social websites (Facebook, Twitter, SnapChat) you must be at least 13 years old (this is the rule that the websites have). Our presented told the students if they have one of these accounts they should talk to Mom and Dad about what they think is best for them to help keep them safe. We also talked about "being barbecue sauce" and that it's okay if some people don't like us (just like some people don't like barbecue sauce) we still should like ourselves. Finally, we learned that if someone does or says something that makes us uncomfortable or says mean things we should tell a grown-up right away.

Friday Fun

Today was the first week our students participated in extra computer Fridays. In order to participate in extra computer time students need to have all assignments from the week completed. If they do not, they will work on their missing assignments during extra computer time. Today our entire class earned this reward!

Homecoming Parade

What a great first full week of school. We ended this week with a homecoming parade. The students really loved watching the floats and catching candy (as well as some prizes). Here's some of the fun we had!
